Dr. Zoey Garland

Veterinarian

Dr. Zoey Garland knew she wanted to be a vet for as long as she can remember. She graduated from the University of Guelph in 2018, majoring in Animal Science, and from there went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Melbourne, graduating in 2022. Initially, Zoey wanted to be an equine vet, but she quickly changed her mind after finding interest in small animal medicine and surgery (and after almost getting kicked one too many times by a horse).

When asked what she enjoys most about being a veterinarian, her answer would be “seeing how much impact animals have on people’s lives and being able to play a part in helping owners make well-informed choices regarding their pet’s health and wellbeing.”

Zoey shares her life with her senior dog Dexter and her cat Toph, who she adopted in Australia and made the journey back to Canada with her after she graduated. In Zoey’s free time, she enjoys horseback riding, climbing, hiking with her dog Dexter, and spending time at the cottage.
